DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING RELATE TO YOU?
- Are you having problems seeing comfortably? Are street signs blurry? The chalkboard at school?
- Is your vision less than clear when you wear your contact lenses?
- Are your contact lenses dry and uncomfortable by the middle of the afternoon?
- Has your child been struggling in school, perhaps not comprehending reading assignments?
- Are you experiencing headaches and eyestrain when you read or work on the computer?
Vision problems can take many forms. Whether it is characterized by blurred vision when looking far away, headaches when doing extended computer work, or uncomfortable contact lenses due to dry eye, I will be able evaluate your situation and determine the best course of action.
No matter what age you are, clear, comfortable vision is important in your daily life. For more information on your age group’s common vision problems read the section below that pertains to you:

The demands on our vision as we go through our daily lives can be quite extreme. Computer use is a major cause of eye/vision discomfort. Staring at a computer screen all day long can create increased headaches, eyestrain, and fatigue. The blink rate often slows down, resulting in a dry, gritty sensation of the eyes. This will reduce contact lens comfort, increase blurred vision, and, ultimately, loss of productivity.
Contact lens wear can be more difficult as we get older. Our eyes tend to get drier earlier in the day, often due to problems of the tear film.
It is very common that our near vision tends to become more difficult as we get into our early to mid-40’s. This is typically caused by our focusing system becoming less efficient. You may be at that point in which your “arms are not long enough”, moving your reading material away from you so you can see it clearly. Bifocal contact lenses or a pair of reading glasses is usually the best way to address this issue.
If you have been having problems with your current contact lenses, or have been told you can’t wear contact lenses, I can help. If you have been having problems seeing well with your contact lenses, or your eyes feel dry, I can help.

Weekend Warriors
Perhaps you only want to wear contact lenses for sports or social occasions. Some people wear contact lenses only while skiing, playing basketball, or going out on the town, for example.
If you only want to wear contact lenses on a limited basis, there are a lot of options available. The convenience of disposable contact lenses makes it easy for almost anyone to wear them, even if it is only on a part-time basis.
Children/Students
Poor success in school can often be attributed to undetected vision problems. School screenings, while beneficial in detecting the most obvious vision problems, do not uncover less noticeable conditions. These can lead to poor comprehension, lack of attention, failure in completing assignments, and, ultimately, lack of self-esteem.
Most of the time, glasses will be the best type of correction for children, especially younger ones. They will help improve distance vision in those that are nearsighted, near vision in those that are farsighted, and both distance and near for those with astigmatism.
For those children and young adults that can handle the responsibility, contact lenses may be a good alternative. However, even if you get into contact lenses, you should have a backup pair of glasses.
If the vision is blurry in the distance, near, or both, glasses or contact lenses may help. I can determine the best course of action after a thorough examination of the eyes and vision.
